In November we not only went out to the streets of Saint Petersburg in our Mobile Clinic and processed the requests from ISeeHomelessBot Telegram bot, but also received patients in our Charity Clinic. So let us share the results of our work in November which became possible thanks to your support.
Mobile Clinic
Mobile Clinic is a joint project of Charity Hospital and Kinonia Club. In November we went out 18 times to 26 locations where homeless people could get food and shelter, provided medical and social assistance to 128 patients 187 times. We performed 28 wound dressings. There was one ambulance call.
Charity Clinic
In November we conducted 67 appointments at the clinic (initial – 54, follow-up – 13), 46 patients turned to us for help. We performed 12 wound dressing, took 1 blood test, and did 2 ECGs. There was one ambulance call.
Charity Clinic for refugees, homeless people and people without documents and citizenship is located at 36/9 Baltiyskaya St. (Narvskaya metro station) and accepts patients on working days from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm. Telephone: +7-994-418-65-34
Outreach
During outreach sessions, we come to those who need help – oftentimes, this is the only way to help desperate people. In November we went out 5 times and saw patients 29 times. We performed one dressing.
Requests to Telegram bot
ISeeHomelessBot is a bot for collecting information from St. Petersburg residents about homeless people on the streets. At the request of indifferent people, the Charity Hospital team goes to the person in distress to understand the problem and provide assistance on the spot. In November 12 requests were received, 9 requests have been worked on.
Glasses
At all projects, we gave out 25 pairs of glasses for vision correction, as well as 22 cases for glasses. In November 8 of our patients visited an optometrist. We thank our partners – optical shops Vision, Ocheche, and Rainbow, for their help in making and collecting glasses for homeless patients.
Testing
62 people were tested for HIV infection, viral hepatitis B and C, syphilis, and blood glucose measurement was performed also on 62 patients.
Vaccination
Available at all Mobile Clinic parking lots and at the Charity Clinic free of charge and without any documentation, thanks to cooperation with the district health departments. During the month we immunized 51 people against flu and 7 people against diphtheria and tetanus.
Medical and social support
In addition, Charity Hospital’s staff and volunteers helped patients get help:
– 1 person was admitted to tuberculosis hospital
– 3 people got referrals to visit city clinics
– 1 person got dental help
– 11 people got remote consultations from a medical specialist
– 7 people underwent fluorographic examination
– 4 people restored their Russian Federation passports (jointly with Kinonia)
– 1 person received hairdressing services
Humanitarian aid
In November we gave out: 20 subway tokens, 11 contactless smart cards used in public transport, 6 walking canes, 8 tonometers, 8 intimate hygiene products, 14 sleeping bags, 10 foams for sleeping bags, 11 thermal blankets, 4 mobile phones and 2 SIM-cards for them, 6 phone chargers, 7 orthopedic products, 2 pregnancy tests, 3 raincoats, 1 umbrella, 3 glucometers, 44 lifepacks.
SepaRight Waste Collection
At the SepaRight Waste Collection event, we collected medications for our patients at 17 locations.
Financial Statements
In November Charity Hospital received 593 078.41 rubles of donations! The organization’s expenses in November amounted to 728 261.84 rubles. We purchased medical and office supplies, humanitarian aid kits (foams, thermal blankets, thermal underwear), paid rent and labor for doctors and employees.
